Collective performance in the courtyard of MACTE
Part-time Resistance is a performance by Nico Angiuli realized with the complicity of the citizens of Termoli which rehabilitates three acts of resistance previously explored by the participants of the workshops held between January and March 2022 at MACTE.
On the evening of Sunday, June 12, the performance will feature three resistant episodes in the courtyard of the MACTE. During the staging the audience will witness the alternation of the gestures of twenty performers who will be divided into three groups, generating a choral space.
The attention will be focused on multiple movements simultaneously: in the first part the performers will introduce the actions to the audience and in the second will invite them to experiment and participate in their enactment. Those who wish will be able to try on the jackets tampered with by the seamstresses or experiment with the sound code with the group of prisoners, and even have the chance to attempt to wear spurious leg coverings devised to restrict limb movement and slow down whatever kind of physical action.
Part-time Resistance is a project curated by Eugenia Delfini and coordinated by Ylenia Regia Corte, winner of the public announcement PAC2020 - Piano per l’Arte Contemporanea, promoted by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture.
Nico Angiuli (1981, lives and works between Bari and Berlin) is an artist, director, and lecturer in Performing Techniques at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bari.
His works investigate issues related to agriculture and industry, self-organized forms of resistance and social inequalities through an engagement with places, performance and video.
He has participated in numerous performance art festivals and exhibited in international solo and group exhibitions in museums and institutions such as: Museo MaRT, Rovereto; Fondazione Pistoletto, Biella; Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Berlino; BAK Museum, Utrecht; Palazzo delle Esposizioni, Roma; Dena Foundation, Parigi; Bozar Centre for Fine Arts, Bruxelles; Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Guarene; Today Art Museum, Pechino; Centro Arte Contemporanea Luigi Pecci, Prato; PAC - Padiglione Arte Contemporanea, Milano; Art Omi, NY; Fondazione Bevilacqua la Masa, Venezia; Manifesta Biennale (2018); Quadriennale di Roma (2016); Biennale di Kiev (2015), Biennale di Atene (2013); Tirana Film Festival(2008-2009).
