The permanent collection of the MACTE Museum has been created around the worked acquired from the Premio Termoli. The Premio Termoli was established in 1955 as a contemporary art prize which increased in fame through the years among artists and art critics. The Premio Termoli collection offers a unique example in Italy for all the research dealing with informal, abstract, kinetic and arte programmata works. The collection currently includes over 470 works, mostly paintings and sculpture, made with a variety of techniques and materials.
Some of the artists in the collection are: Carla Accardi, Mirella Bentivoglio, Dadamaino, Tano Festa, Achille Perilli, Gastone Novelli, Mario Schifano, Giulio Turcato e Giuseppe Uncini.
The MACTE Foundation is committed to promoting the rediscovery, appreciation, research and expansion of the collection.
